My boast is meant to depict how great the Doane Academy varsity boys basketball team is this year. By using Beowulf, LL Cool J, and Muhammed Ali as examples, this piece could turn out to be successful.
Only seventy kids in your school? No prob
Every game were out to rob
Our style, man you can't match
While all five starters look for a rebound to crash,
The intent this year is to run
With our top scorer lookin' to gun
Spartans always show no fear
I dare anyone to step inside here
To try to make some noise
No one can keep up with our boys
We're amazing, we're awesome, we're pretty great
All due to our hours in the gym, late
The Penn-Jersey has nothing on us,
After playing great competition Saturday nights, thank you Russ-Russ
Matter fact, bring on states, every single one of you,
After four quarters of us, you'll realize how we do
We Are Doane, starters, coaches, fans, and bench,
After the game they'll feel like they were cracked over the head
With Joe Sieb's wandering wrench
But this championship I promise of, it's not all me,
I praise God, not just one but all three
We play through his name, reppin' Bishop Doane on our chests
Always so confident that we are the best
The BCT says you guys aren't half bad
But this is the best lineup this old school's ever had
After beating everyone and weeding out all the rats
I will say it now: BRING ON ST. PAT'S!
