Out of all of Chaucer's Modern Pilgrims in The Canterbury Tales, the Wife of Bath is by far the most interesting character. In modern times, I feel that she is best represented by Debbie from The Adams Family Values. They are both unattractive to my standards and have had many previous husbands, usually due to the fact that they had enormous wealth. Both characters have extremely charming personalities, yet deep down, they have an alterior motive. Debbie and Wife of Bath are my favorite characters in their respective stories. The Wife of Bath has been so popular with the men of the area, while Debbie is sought after by any men in her way.
